Welcome
Cottage Hound Designs, the one stop for
all your Greyhound and Whippet needs. Here you can custom
design, your dog’s coat, rain coat, jammies, and
sweatshirts, to suit your needs . We also carry a specialty
line of oriental brocade coats, dressy corduroy coats,
tripod coats and donation dog silks. The Greyhound
Chifferobe and Whippet Closet contain items that are ready
to ship.
Our
first Greyhound walked through our door and into our hearts
in 1997. Since that time, we’ve fallen in love with these
gentle dogs and their smaller cousins, the Whippets. With my
husbands support and encouragement, I started sewing for our
own dogs and in 2000 officially opened my business. Over
time, I’ve expanded my designer line to include Whippets and
recently, a limited line of jammies and snuggle sacks, for
Italian Greyhounds. Sewing for the dogs, also provides me
with the means to donate to various adoption efforts. |

When shopping at
The Cottage, you can be assured that each item is sewn,
by myself. Using quality fabrics, attention is given to
the smallest details, that will make your pup look their
very best, while being warm & comfortable. When
possible, all seams are first basted, then serged, to
prevent fabric raveling, and topstitched for a crisp
appearance. Matching fabric tabs are added to coats with
the T-strap design. Some are held together with Velcro,
others have adjustable sliders and 2 piece buckles. All
two layer coat styles are constructed in such a way,
that the seams are on the inside, between the layers.
This method is time consuming, but well worth the
effort, as it produces a designer product at an
affordable price. A variety of trims, laces, buttons &
closures are available, to accent your dog’s coat, so it
is unique as well as practical. Want something different
that isn’t shown on the website? Just ask, am always
happy to adjust my designs to accommodate your needs.

Donations to Group Events/Fundraisers
Due to the
volume of requests for donations, I've had to make changes to my
policies, as I can't fill them all. If you'd like your group to
be considered for a donation, you will need to Snail Mail me, 2
months prior to your event/fundraiser. Requests should be on
Group Letterhead and contain the following information: Group
Name, Address, 501C3#, Directors Name, Website Address and the
reason for the request, and the date of the event. Snail Mailing a request will not
automatically mean, that a donation will be forthcoming, but I
will fill those that I am able to, each month. E-Mail requests,
